alias in update SQL query is not working -


here sql query:

update q set q.firstname="ram" person q

it gives me following error:

error 1: not prepare statement (1 near ".": syntax error)

can tell me went wrong this? in advance.

you use clause if update table data other table. if not just:

update person    set firstname='ram'
