reporting services - Changing SSRS report to target older SQL Server version only changes rdl file in the bin folder, BAD FORMATTING -


vs2017 built report targeting sql server 2016 use 2008 currently. when change properties target older version of sql server appears alter rdl file in bin folder after report built not alter rdl file in solution root directory. want rdl file in solution root directory reflect sql server version changes.

i'm aware can grab 1 in bin folder 1 located there has no formatting , on 1 line. don't want check awful looking source.
