excel - Locking & Protecting columns in multiple sheets within workbook -


i have workbook has many sheets 1 sheet called "je" acts main sheet , has "form" row 7 446 users populate values in form. in columns e & g of sheet "je", have formulas in rows want lock , protect user can't edit them. when lock & hide rows in columns , protect sheet "je" can go affect, can no longer double-click values in separate sheets in order populate rows in main sheet. when try double-click values in different sheets populate main sheet, run-time error '1004' telling me trying change protected sheet, etc.

does know of way can protect columns , still able double-click values in order populate main sheet?

i can provide more details , elaborate more on issue, if needed. in advance!
